New morning of incidences in the suburbs. This time, the theft of cables causes delays in the trains that run between Tarragona and Barcelona. The incident affects several lines: the R14, R15, R16, R17 and RT2. Adif has reported that the impact on the infrastructure occurred between Tarragona and Torredembarra and average delays of 20 minutes are recorded.

The railway infrastructure manager has detailed which technicians are currently working to solve the problem and recover the normal operation of these lines. The theft of signaling wiring would be about 20 meters.

This misfortune between Tarragona and Barcelona has not been the only rail incident that has occurred this morning. The Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat have also suffered some delays on the Barcelona-Vallés line due to a fault on the train that has already been resolved.

These incidents are added to the one that occurred on May 1 when it affected the Gavà signal box. Last Saturday the affected lines recovered the usual service. The convoys that were affected were the R2 Sur, Regionales R13, R14, R15, R16 and R17, as well as the R2 north and R11 lines. For three weeks, the trains on these lines did not work normally, taking much longer to complete the journeys, making many more stops, reducing frequencies and forcing many people to look for alternatives.

This cable theft also occurs one day after another incident that occurred yesterday morning on the section of the R4 line between Martorell and Castellbisbal, affecting this line and the R8. In this case, a failure in the catenary disrupted the normal operation of the service. Finally, the problem could be fixed shortly before noon and back to normal again.

It was not the only railway incident of the day. This morning, the service of the S2 line of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat between Plaza Catalunya and Sabadell has undergone transit changes due to a train breakdown, which has already been resolved.
