After two days of meticulous searching, police and investigators are still looking for clues about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in the Arade reservoir, Portugal. The area is known to be a frequent camping spot for prime suspect Christian Brueckner.

Brueckner, a sex offender currently serving a prison sentence, has been singled out by the German public prosecutor’s office as the main suspect. Some of his crimes were committed in Praia da Luz, in Portugal, the same place where the McCann family was vacationing when Madeleine disappeared.

Brueckner is currently in a German jail for a rape he committed in Portugal two years before Madeleine disappeared in the country, and is being separately investigated as a murder suspect in the McCann case, but has not been charged.

Four a day has exclusively revealed a very brief letter recently written by Brueckner from prison. In this letter he categorically denies having been in Praia da Luz since 2006, a year before Madeleine’s disappearance. Therefore, he assures that he cannot be guilty.

Brueckner’s assertions, therefore, ensure that he cannot be blamed for the disappearance of little Maddie. So he contradicts the claims of the researchers, whom he has wished “success for their studies.”
