A new breakdown in a train from the Ouigo company has forced this Saturday to delay the high-speed trip that some 1,000 passengers expected to make this morning from Barcelona to Madrid, the railway company has reported.
The breakdown affected the train that was to leave Barcelona Sants station at 10:40 a.m., made up of two compositions.
One of them, according to the same sources, was already at that time on the platform of that station while the second, which is the one with the technical problem, remains at the Can Tunis railway center, where they are trying to repair the fault. .
As a result, part of the travelers have left for Madrid in the first of the convoys more than an hour late, while the other half of the passengers remains at Sants station waiting for the damaged train to be repaired.
Yesterday, the breakdown of a convoy from the same company that covered the Barcelona-Madrid high-speed line forced the trip of one of them with 1,015 passengers to be delayed for more than three hours and the trip of two other trains, totaling another 2,000, to be suspended. Travellers.
Ouigo stated in a statement that, “in compliance with its compensation policy, the affected travelers will receive” the corresponding compensation, which will be the full amount in the case of the train that has arrived late and two hundred percent of the cost of the ticket in the case of travelers whose trains have been suspended.
