The Tecnocampus wants to value the audiovisual talent of its Audiovisual Media Degree students. This is the objective of the GMA Awards, an event in which students will have the opportunity to show the public the short films and other audiovisual pieces that they have presented as their final degree project. In this event, which will take place on May 31 in the TecnoCampus Auditorium, the winning works will also be announced.
During the evening, fragments of the nominated works will be screened, which have been selected among the best productions made in this last year of the degree. Specifically, a total of eight categories have been defined: fiction, non-fiction, direction, photography, video editing, music creation, design and digital art, and animation and special effects.
A panel of expert professors in the field will be in charge of choosing the winning short films, which will receive awards in each category. As the GMA professor VÃctor Manuel Navarro values, this is a good opportunity for young talents to show their creations and be recognized for their dedication and effort. “We want students to see that their works can be projected and shown to people and that they are not only done to pass a subjectâ€, he values.
The event takes over from the old ARQFest, an audiovisual exhibition that was held on different occasions and that, after the pandemic, was stopped. Now, explains Navarro, they have wanted to focus on the part of the prizes to serve as an incentive for students. The winners of each category will receive, in addition to a mention, a subscription to the Filmin platform. “With this we also want to promote the general and audiovisual culture of the students,” says the teacher.
This event is not only aimed at TecnoCampus students, but will also be open to the general public interested in the world of cinema and audiovisual media. Admission is free and you only have to register to attend.
