Nothing goes right in Johnny Depp’s life. After going through the trial against Amber Heard, one of the most notorious and with the greatest media coverage of the decade, the American actor had taken a break from his acting facet to dedicate himself to music. They were little performances to fill the time with, but now he won’t be able to do that for a while either. And it is that after his recent appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, Depp has postponed all his commitments due to health problems.
This was announced by the interpreter on Instagram, through a letter dedicated to his followers. “Dear friends, I regret to inform you that I have fractured my ankle,” the letter begins. The American recounts that at first it seemed like a tiny, insignificant break, but that between his appearances in Cannes and at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the situation became more tricky. A real setback that will keep you parked for a while.
As he comments, several medical professionals advised him to completely stop any activity he had planned, which is why he has been forced to postpone all his commitments and musical performances until further notice. The actor apologizes extensively to his followers based in New Hampshire, the next ones who should see Depp in action. Even with everything, he promises to return with great shows and give his best to those who have paid for his tickets.
The letter also details the three events postponed because of his ankle injury. After the reorganization, they have a new date for July 28, 29 and 30. They are shows to be performed in Boston, Manchester from New Hampshire and the small town of Bethel. The actor also promises in his letter to take his show big in Europe throughout the summer, once he has recovered from his physical handicaps.
Johnny Depp’s last year has undoubtedly been one of the tightest and most controversial in a career that is not without its problems. In May of last year he was in full court with his ex-wife Amber Heard, who accused him of sexual assault and abuse during their relationship. The crossed accusations and the intervention of social networks gave one of the most controversial cases in recent years, with both receiving convictions for defamation.
Precisely the storm of this trial removed Depp from the role that launched him to world fame. Amid criticism from around the world, Disney decided to remove the actor from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, in which the American gave life to the irreverent pirate Jack Sparrow. The image of him as a privateer, however, returned to the company’s parks once the trial was over, and since then his return has been rumored for a sixth installment of the saga.
