“There are 54 days left to end sanchismo”. It seems that it will be the rallying cry of the PP president, Alberto Núñez Feijóo between now and July 23, when the PP president knows that he has to fight not only against the PSOE, but also against the date on which the elections have been called. . For this reason, he has begun to send messages to citizens about the importance of these elections, whenever they happen. The main one that there are those who want (for Sánchez) that people choose between “ballot boxes or vacations”, but the choice is another, warns them: “You choose between Sánchez and Spain, and I am convinced that the majority of citizens will choose Spain “.

Alberto Núñez Feijóo received a shower of crowds from his party yesterday, although he wanted to share the limelight with the barons of the PP who had regional elections on Sunday, with whom he walked down Génova street to the meeting of the PP’s National Board of Directors, The party’s highest body between congresses, already convened since the last day of the campaign, that is, before Pedro Sánchez announced yesterday elections for July 23. Before the Board of Directors, Feijóo made himself available to his party to be the candidate, since there is no other procedure to comply with, the PP statutes establish that the president of the party is the candidate for the presidency of the government.

The popular leader had another reason for satisfaction yesterday to consider that his triumph may be closer. Although when he spoke, the decision of Ciudadanos de Ciudadanos not to stand in the July elections was not yet officially known, after the bad results, Feijóo must have known something about it, because although he said it prudently, he showed his satisfaction for this fact.

“If the news is confirmed,” Feijóo said twice before the board of directors, “I thank Ciudadanos for not running in the elections.” And he insisted “if it were confirmed”, it would be, for the president of the PP “an exercise of maturity and responsibility” and would have shown that its leaders “have understood the message of the polls on Sunday”, that is, “not to let the votes be lose and are not translated into seats”, as has happened in some autonomous communities where Ciudadanos has not obtained representation by not reaching 5% representation, and for the many votes obtained, despite not being many have not served to win seats , and yet, they would have contributed to a more comfortable result for the PP, if they had gone to this party.

That is why Feijóo appealed to the voters of Ciudadanos: “There is a historic opportunity to concentrate efforts on the PP, as a useful tool to win against Sanchismo. I want to tell you that this house is your house.” He offers them “the best version of the PP”, that is, “a united, excited party and the best prepared to also govern Spain”.

His commitment is to “put into practice the majority desire for change in Spain” which was already seen on May 28, when it occurred, he said “a real tsunami! A change that for him is not just reaching the Government “in any way and at any price”, but to leave behind “the frivolous and deceitful politics”, because he is convinced that the elections “have denounced the division, the chaos and the irresponsibility of the Government” and that the Spaniards said they want “strong, serious” governments and stable”.

That, Feijóo assures, can only be guaranteed by the PP, and as proof of this he launched a challenge to the PSOE, although he did not quote it: “I put the PP votes at the service of constitutionalism to remove any possibility of government from Bildu.” The president of the PP considers that the rise experienced by Bildu on Sunday both in Navarra and in numerous municipalities of the Basque Country and Navarra, “is worrying.” Hence, his commitment goes further, and is to form a “solid government that knows how to say no to Bildu as of July 23, where the Government has said yes to everything.” Meanwhile, “I assume the challenge of stopping Bildu.”

Alberto Núñez Feijóo, applauded on numerous occasions throughout his speech, calls on citizens, from now on, whether or not there are holidays “to shelve a government that has too many ministers and lacks dignity”, with a warning “the sanchismo You only have one chance, that we tire you out and that we trust ourselves”.

The president of the PP believes in the party’s chances of winning the general elections and being able to form a government: “Nobody is going to convince us that the best is what we have, nor are they going to take us to any trench, from which we have already left, and We are going to advance in unity and without blocks”.
