The Prosecutor’s Office requests six years in prison for the rapper Morad for attacking and intimidating several Mossos d’Esquadra agents with a Taser defense after skipping the night confinement in July 2021 in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona), in the midst of a pandemic .

The singer, who has had more than one legal case opened for other events, is now facing a request for a sentence of six years in prison for the crimes of aggravated assault with the use of a weapon in competition with a minor crime of injury – for which the public prosecutor requests four years in prison- and for the crime of possession of a prohibited weapon -two years-.

In addition to this imprisonment request, the Prosecutor’s Office requests a two-month fine of 10 euros per day for a minor offense of injury caused to one of the Mossos agents, as well as compensation of 350 euros for liability civil.

According to the indictment, which El Mundo has advanced and to which EFE has had access, the public ministry maintains that on July 17, 2017 the rapper, with “manifest indifference to authority”, took out an electrical defense device or Taser -considered a prohibited weapon-, put it into operation and “wielded it against the agents in an intimidating way.”

Immediately afterwards, the Prosecutor’s Office continues, the defendant “pounced on them, trying to surpass them”, and with the “intention to undermine the physical integrity” of one of the police officers, “kicked him in the leg”.

That July 17, four agents from the Mossos d’Esquadra and another two from the Urban Police were at night carrying out surveillance devices to ensure compliance with the night confinement in the La Florida blocks of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.

Once the service was over, around 02:20 in the morning, they appreciated how glass bottles were thrown at them from the window of one of the blocks while yelling at them: “Dogs, sons of bitches.”

A neighbor alerted the agents of the portal where the possible perpetrators of the events had taken refuge, where they found the rapper “fleeing through one of the halls on the landing.”

After identifying themselves, the agents asked the defendant to stop running, although he “ignored it”, and seeing himself “cornered with no way out at the end of the corridor” was when he took out the Taser defense and attacked the police officers, says the Prosecutor’s Office in his indictment, addressed to the Examining Court number 3 of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.

Finally, the agents managed to reduce and arrest the defendant, who was intervened with “said extensible defense ETS Pierre Supper brand, Stun/Gun Electro Max EM3 model, 90 mm long, 36 mm wide and 22 mm thick from the that he had used, that he carried without having the pertinent authorization for its possession”.

Morad’s defense denies, on the other hand, that the rapper used a Taser defense, and ensures that there were more people involved in this incident.
