The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested two men for carrying out violent robberies of jewels, by means of pulls, while they were circulating on an electric scooter through the Barcelona district of Sants-Montjuïc.
The thieves, to whom six robberies are attributed, acted in coordination, and while one monitored the surroundings, the other violently stole the jewelry worn by the victims. Subsequently, the person who was watching the victim intervened in the incident discreetly, to favor the escape of the other, some roles that were being exchanged.
The events occurred in the Sants-Montjuïc district of Barcelona between April 23 and May 4, and the thieves used to act at noon. Their goal was to steal the jewelry from the victims, such as chains and watches, and if they couldn’t do it this way, they could steal them with the use of violence.
On other occasions they approached the victim with their backs turned, caught her off guard by the neck and took the opportunity to steal the jewelry with the help of the other person involved. Some of the victims suffered injuries due to the violence used by the criminals and others as a result of having fallen to the ground.
The one who had not directly intervened in the robbery posed as a pedestrian and helped the victims get up from the ground to leave the place stealthily when people approached.
In one of the robberies, to ensure the escape of his partner, one of them intervened in pursuit of a witness while simulating a confrontation. The fugitive took advantage of this circumstance to attack and threaten the person, after he fell to the ground as a result of the encounter.
Agents from the L’Hospitalet Urban Crime Group arrested one of the perpetrators on May 4, after committing one of the violent robberies in an area of ​​this town very close to the Sants district. In the framework of the investigation, the other person involved was identified, whom the agents arrested days later. Both authors accumulate ten criminal records, including eight for violent acts. After going to court, prison was decreed for the two detainees.
