Macarena Olona has announced this Wednesday what was an open secret. The former spokesperson and general secretary of Vox in the Congress of Deputies has registered her own political party with which to run in the next general elections on July 23.
Without giving any clue about the program with which she may possibly run in the next elections, the former deputy from the extreme right had already given a clue this morning through her Twitter account, in which she published “Girl, don’t be crazy. It would be putting you in the crossfire between the two blocks of bipartisanship.
Hours later, he uploaded a photograph at the door of the Ministry of the Interior in which he can be seen posing next to the registration documentation, after carrying out the process. Next to that image, another photograph with two shoes, one blue and one red, with the motto “walking with the left foot and with the right”.
Olona announced her departure from Vox at the end of July 2022, just a week after taking the oath of office as an Andalusian parliamentarian. “After more than three years dedicated body and soul to public service, from politics, the time has come to end this stage for medical reasons beyond my control,” she wielded in a statement.
The former leader of Vox was the bet of the far-right party led by Santiago Abascal to run in the regional elections of Andalusia, whose candidacy was punctuated by his registration in the Granada municipality of Salobreña. Olona got two more seats compared to the 2018 elections, achieving a total of 14 seats.
In his statement, he explained: “I managed to conclude the Andalusian electoral campaign. (…) I thought that my sole will would be enough, but health does not understand commitments and now I have to face an important personal challenge, by medical prescription, incompatible with the media exposure and dedication that Andalusia deserves”.
