It is not usual for Julio Iglesias to speak out in public and less about his private life. For years the singer has lived away from the media spotlight in his residence in Punta Cana, with his wife Miranda Rijnsburger and their five children; also close to his three older children, born during his marriage to Isabel Preysler.

His voluntary retirement has triggered all kinds of rumors in recent weeks about a possible delicate state of health of the 79-year-old artist. It had even been said that he was in a wheelchair and also suffered from Alzheimer’s. They put the icing on the cake this same week on the program A la tarde on América TV, in which they assured that the physical deterioration of the artist was very alarming and went so far as to state that “he doesn’t even remember his songs anymore”.

All these speculations about his health have led Julio Iglesias to take a step forward and publish a forceful statement on social networks in which he explains with all kinds of details how he is at the moment with the aim of putting an end to speculation and fake news.

“I am very sorry for everything that is caused by the fact that I have chosen a little time of solitude”, begins the ex-husband of Isabel Preysler, who has stayed away from the scenes since the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. “From in a rude way to those who have made me doubt my health, I would tell them that I am DPM, but to the people who really love me for so many years, tell them that I have never had a clearer head, writing my memories, and I thank them with all my soul for their love as always”, he wrote definitively.

“I can’t believe so much speculation for not wanting to do interviews at the moment. I read all over again that I’m in a wheelchair, out of my mind and can’t even remember my songs. How can you be so malicious and accumulate so much evil”, continues the Spanish artist.

Along with these explanations, he has shared an image in which he shows a change in look. “This photo is barely a few days old, the mustache is mine, it reminds me a lot of my father”, explains the singer. “Thank you very much as always”, he concludes.
