The PNV once again bets on Aitor Esteban as the visible head of the party in general elections and, probably, future spokesman for the party in Congress. The lists proposed by the Party Executive to affiliates and municipal organizations also have deputies during the current legislature such as Idoia Sagastizabal, Mikel Legarda and Joseba Agirretxea, although the approval of the affiliation and that the candidates, who have presented themselves in alphabetical order, it is ordered in the lists.

For the moment, the EBB of the PNV has sent to its territorial organizations in Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa, Álava and Navarra, its proposal for lists to run in the general elections on July 23.

In a statement, the PNV has informed that, “in compliance with what is included in the PNV Statutes”, the list sent by the party Executive “is arranged in alphabetical order” and “it will now be the jelzale affiliation, through the Municipal Assembly”, which will validate them “and may even incorporate new candidates in the first round”, which begins this Thursday and will end on Sunday, June 4. Each Municipal Organization will vote on its final proposal in the second round, to be held between Tuesday, June 6 and Thursday, June 8.

The Territorial Assemblies must validate these proposals on Friday, June 9, and their decision “will be taken into account by the EBB when ordering this list of candidates” and submit a final proposal to the Extraordinary National Assembly, which will be held on Saturday June 10, and that “he will have the last word”.

According to the jeltzale formation, “the haste” with which Pedro Sánchez has called the General Elections of 23-J has forced him to “shorten the deadlines set forth in his Statutes as much as possible”, but this “has not prevented the jeltzale formation from organizing the process”.

In this way, “the traditional double round will be respected, which is the one that consecrates the sovereign power of participation and decision of each and every one of its affiliates.”

The proposal of the Executive of the PNV sent to the territories is, in alphabetical order, in Bizkaia, Oihane Agirregoitia, Naroa Atxurra, Amaia del Campo, Aitor Esteban, Maitane Ipiñazar, Ager Izagirre, Imanol Landa, Itziar Landeta, Álvaro Parro, Nerea Renteria and Idoia Sagastizabal.

Aspirants to the Senate are Nerea Ahedo, Ziortza Álvarez, María Dolores Etxano, Sergio Fernández, Yolanda Fika, Josu Gorospe, Ane Legarretaetxebarria, Igotz López and Gorka Uriarte.

For Álava, Ane Miren Atín, Maite Cortazar, Anartz Gorrotxategi, Mikel Legarda, and Inmaculada Laredo, Juan Carlos Medina, Almudena Otaola, Rosa Peral, Izaskun Pérez de Heredia and Izaskun Reyes are proposed as candidates for the Lower House.

The proposed candidates for Congress in Gipuzkoa are Joseba Andoni Agirretxea, Josu Arraiz, Olatz Peon and Maribel Vaquero, while the list for the Senate consists of Mertxe Garmendia, Rafa Uribarren and Luke Uribe-Etxebarria.

The list that the EBB proposes for the Congress in Navarra is made up of Idoia De Carlos, Amaiur Guindeo, the philosopher Daniel Innerarity and María Solana, while the list for the Senate includes Anika Luján and Javier Ollo.

The current deputies Aitor Esteban, Idoia Sagastizabal, Mikel Legarda and Joseba Agirretxea repeat as candidates in the proposal of the jeltzale leadership to Congress.

For the upper house, the up to now senators Juan Carlos Medina, Almudena Otaola, Rosa Peral, Nerea Ahedo, María Dolores Etxano, Mertxe Garmendia and Luke Uribe-Etxebarria are proposed again. The spokeswoman in the last legislature, Estefanía Beltrán de Heredia, will not repeat.
