Paris Saint-Germain has announced via social networks that Spanish central defender Sergio Ramos will not continue in the team next season.

PSG bid farewell to Ramos with a tweet with an image of the player and the word ‘merci’ (thank you).

The Parisian club recalls on its website that, after his arrival in Paris on July 8, 2021, Ramos “has brought experience, discipline and a competitive spirit, driven by a sense of sacrifice and the hunger to win everything”.

In 57 games he scored 5 goals for Paris Saint-Germain, including his first on January 23, 2022 in the league against Reims.

From November 28, 2021 to January 1, 2023, he remained unbeaten with the club and went 34 games without defeat.

“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to have seen Sergio Ramos defend his colors with such determination, and sincerely wishes him the best for the rest of his career.”

Sergio Ramos himself says: “Wearing the red and blue jersey these last two years has been a wonderful experience. I had an unforgettable adventure in Paris and I would like to thank you all for your support and love. Allez Paris!”

Sergio Ramos will leave PSG after two seasons in their ranks from Real Madrid. With the French team, the Sevillian has won two Ligue 1 titles and a French Super Cup.

Born in Camas, Sergio Ramos trained at Sevilla and then joined Real Madrid, where he spent 16 years.

Ramos, considered one of the best defenders in the world, has scored 101 goals in 671 games in all competitions. He was captain of Real Madrid between 2015 and 2021 and helped his team win four Champions Leagues between 2014 and 2018 and La Liga in 5 (2007, 2008, 2012, 2017 and 2020). With the Spanish team, he won the Euro Cup in 2008 and 2012 and the World Cup in 2010.

This Saturday, against Clermont, will be Sergio Ramos’ last game with PSG. And also of the Argentine Leo Messi, whose departure was confirmed on Thursday by the team’s coach, Christophe Galtier.
