A 76-year-old man, M.B.A., died yesterday morning because the SUV he was driving left the road and crashed into a tree on the C-45 road, in the municipality of Serós (Segrià ). The Catalan Traffic Service reported that the accident occurred at 6:46 a.m. for reasons that are being investigated. With this accident, the number of fatalities on Catalonia’s interurban road network since the beginning of 2023 has risen to 63.
We must also lament another death, that of a motorcyclist in the city of Barcelona after he left the road at the Litoral roundabout. The incident occurred at seven in the morning at exit 20 of the roundabout, that of Morrot, in the direction of Besòs, for unknown reasons.
On the other hand, one person was seriously injured and others in a less serious condition in the multiple accident in which three vehicles were involved around noon on the National-II on its way through Llers (Alt Empordà ). The incidents were caused by the head-on collision of three vehicles, the drivers of which are the three injured. The Generalitat Fire Department reported that they had to mobilize seven crews to extricate the three people affected.
