Professional footballer Sergio Rico, PSG goalkeeper, suffered an accident with a horse when he was enjoying the pilgrimage that was held in El Rocío, Huelva, on May 28. Since then he has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Virgen de Rocío Hospital in Seville.

In the absence of further reports, his condition remains serious but stable and he remains in the ICU under sedation. In statements to Europa Press, the footballer’s wife, Alba Silva, has confirmed that, despite everything, the evolution continues to be positive: “Yes, little by little. We have a lot of trust in the Virgen del Rocío professionals.”

There have been numerous messages of support for the soccer player that Rico’s family has been receiving since the accident. This past weekend it was his current club, Paris Sant Germain, who organized a heartfelt tribute to the goalkeeper in their stadium. Similar acts also took place among the Seville fans, who did not hesitate to dedicate their last trophy won, to what was also number 13 in the Andalusian club in its day.
