Four people have died and at least eight have been injured in a rally held this weekend in Hungary when one of the cars participating in it left the track, impacting an area full of spectators.
According to the Hungarian police, one of the vehicles participating in the Esztergom Nyerges Rally lost control on a straight line, but the reasons have not yet been revealed.
The accident occurred during a race between the towns of Labatlán and Bajot, near the Danube River, in northwest Hungary.
The images released by several fans have captured the violence of the impact that has claimed the lives of at least four spectators. Four medical helicopters have traveled to the area to emergency evacuate the injured on a road that has been suspended due to the tragedy.
According to the first information provided by the Index.hu portal, among the injured there are two people, one of them a minor, who have serious injuries and another six have minor bruises.
Videos on social media show the car losing traction on a paved road before sliding into the area reserved for the public.
