Carlos Mazón has started today with the PSPV the round of contacts with the rest of the political forces that have achieved representation in the Valencian Parliament with the aim of achieving the abstention of the Socialists from his investiture. He has even put on the table a list with 35 programmatic points in which the PP is willing to reach agreements during the legislature in exchange for that abstention. As this newspaper had already announced days ago, the PSPV has flatly refused this option.

The next president of the Generalitat Valenciana attended the meeting accompanied by deputies Miguel Barrachina and Juan Francisco Pérez Llorca. On behalf of the PSPV, the acting ministers and deputies Rebeca Torró and Arcadi España and deputy María José Salvador attended. Spain has assured that “the PP is obliged to form a government with the conservative bloc”, in accordance with the results of 28M, and that “nobody would understand” that the socialists abstained, for which reason it has demanded that Mazón say “as soon as possible Say if you want to share Consell with Vox. “We do not spoil anyone” added the socialist.

The decision of the PSPV leaves the Valencian PP with little room for manoeuvre. He will have to negotiate with Vox, a formation that is waiting for the meeting with Carlos Mazón to present its conditions.

Both Miguel Barrachina and Pérez Llorca have regretted this “resounding no” and have criticized the fact that the acting ‘president’ and leader of the PSPV, Ximo Puig, has not participated in the conversation. They have insisted that their objective is to form a “stable, transversal” government and away from “block politics.”

Nor has there been a rapprochement of positions regarding the composition of the table of les Corts. The PP has proposed that all political groups be represented at the table, made up of the president, two vice-presidents and two secretaries. But from the PSPV it has been pointed out that, for the moment, “the fixed photo is three for the PP and two for the PSPV”, according to María José Salvador.

Carlos Mazón will meet next Monday the 12th with Compromís and on Tuesday the 13th with Vox, after which he will publicly assess the round of negotiations for his investiture.
