Sergio Rico’s health remains a critical issue to address. The Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper has been admitted to the Virgen del Rocío Hospital in Seville for nearly two weeks, after the spectacular accident on horseback that he suffered in El Rocío, Huelva. With each day that passes, the information that arrives is more positive, but the feeling of pain does not go away. It is these sensations that his wife, Alba Silva, is experiencing, who today has tried to reject the questions from the press.

Since the incident took place, the journalist has always been willing to give daily updates to the media, beyond the hospital releases. However, this Friday morning she has been somewhat more subdued and withered. Given the usual intervention of the camera near the medical center, Silva has asked on this occasion not to record it, since she was not in the best state of mind to respond.

“Don’t record me today because I don’t feel like it please. I really appreciate it, but don’t record me today please. There are better days and worse days and today I have a bad day, it’s normal. Thank you”, explained the goalkeeper’s wife in the surroundings of the hospital. Despite her request, Silva has been able to leave a message related to the PSG player, whose evolution does not seem to have stagnated for the moment: “Every day that passes is one less.”

These sunken statements come hours after Alba Silva herself published a heartfelt image with her husband, both sharing a kiss. The image is not accompanied by any message, but it has been enough to receive new expressions of affection and support. One of them was that of her sister, Rocío Silva, who on Thursday afternoon published a heartfelt letter of encouragement on Instagram in the face of the unpleasant situation that the family is going through in recent days.

Sergio Rico’s accident continues to be a winding matter to deal with, but one of the parts already reconstructed is the sequence of events that occurred on May 28. The goalkeeper traveled to Huelva from Strasbourg, where he had just won Ligue 1 with PSG, to take part in the El Rocío pilgrimage. While he was going to the Pontifical Mass on horseback, a garbage truck scared the colt, which violently threw the porter to the ground on the rebound. Altered and confused, the steed ended up kicking him in the neck.

Within the range of reactions, the most heartfelt were those of the main clubs with which the goalkeeper has played: Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain. Those from Nervión dedicated their seventh Europa League to him by jumping onto the pitch of the Púskas Arena in Budapest with a shirt in his honor. The Parisians, for their part, turned the end of the season against Clermont into a heartfelt tribute: shirts with his name on the back, a spectacular tifo, a goal by Sergio Ramos and a shirt in the air by Kilian Mbappé.
