The International Logistics Fair (SIL) closed this Friday its last edition in Barcelona with more than 15,000 professional participants, 20% more than those registered last year, according to the organizing entity, the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona ( CZFB).
The event has brought together 650 companies, 40% of them international, for three days this week and has hosted more than 250 events. The fair, which this year has celebrated its 25th anniversary, has had an economic impact on the city and its metropolitan area of 50 million euros.
“Once again, the success of SIL has been possible thanks to the high profile of all the companies and professionals who have gathered during these three days at the great meeting point for the sector in our country”, has valued the president of SIL and special delegate of the State in the CZFB, Pere Navarro.
The general director of SIL and the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué, added that the event has shown its “great potential by bringing together the most prominent agents in the sector at an international level and has been the perfect showcase for networking”.
Among other issues, during SIL 2023 it has been possible to see that the use of artificial intelligence is already a reality in the logistics sector. In addition, coinciding with the Fira de Barcelona show, it has hosted five international congresses that have placed the Catalan capital at the center of global logistics.
