It is the youngest of the golden generation of Operación Triunfo, the first and inimitable, and the only one that does everything alone: ​​it composes all its songs, produces them, looks for locations for each video clip, chooses dancers and can spend 20 hours sewing pearls for one of the outfits that he will wear for two stanzas. To do, he prefers to disassemble a dishwasher through an internet tutorial than to call the plumber. It is what he saw in his house (he was born in Sanlúcar, Cádiz, in 1982) and what he took with him to Madrid. Natalia has just launched One Hundred x One Hundred and has more than one hundred thousand views on YouTube.
“It is a heartbreak song, so I dedicate it to heartbreaks that I have experienced (laughs). Also because I saw how on Instagram there is a lot of talk about heartbreak, zero contact, anxious attachment and 100% things like that. In this social network, Natalia explained that in this work she has mixed feelings, music and her sexiest side regardless of what others think. “Not everyone can like you but in this song I am being myself one hundred percent, I have been carried away by electronic sounds and if I come out more sensual than ever it is because I am 40 years old, I should not be accountable to anyone, I own of my own body and what I want to do. We should go a little more out there: not hurting anyone, having empathy and feeling comfortable with yourself seems like a perfect life motto to meâ€.
To get here, Natalia explains that she has developed a long and enriching interior work: “It has been a job of therapy, coaching, talking to myself, knowing what is good for me, what is bad for me, getting rid of toxic people… Thus, When you reach an age where you prioritize your well-being and what is good for you, that shows when it comes to broadcasting and singing. I am an independent woman, I know what I want at all times and whoever wants to be by my side knows what is thereâ€. I had two options: either I go home or I continue singing. I decided to continue singing and I was the first in Spain to release digital singles. Something very complicated, but I opened the way and the play went well. Today everyone does itâ€, recalls the woman from Cádiz. Mixture of stubbornness, perfectionism and creative force, Natalia continues supervising all the details of each one of her productions. More than that:
“I don’t supervise the videos, I do. From the moment I compose the first note of the song, I take the car, look for the locations, that place with the sea, with the rocks… I take care of the dancers, the outfits… What’s more, a little step further, even the dress I wear on the beach: I spent more than 20 hours sewing pearls because I wanted to do it myself. I have a team but come on, I’ve been like that since I left Operación Triunfo. A painter or a carpenter does not enter my parents’ house in Sanlúcar or my house in Madrid: once my dishwasher broke down and I watched a YouTube tutorial, I disassembled it, fixed it and reassembled it. And I fixed the toilet, I changed the turbine that is there to pour the water. I am an aunt with a lot of common senseâ€. Common sense and a toolbox.
With her relationship with Miguel Alves broken, Natalia is single again. For possible interested parties, this is what makes her fall in love with her. “I don’t like nonsense, I am a very normal aunt, so I fall in love with someone who gives value to small things, such as going to a beach and picking up shells and not posing in the hammock, on the beach club. I need a person who puts on some fins on their feet and is with me snorkeling watching little fish, who gives more value to eating a sandwich while watching TV than a restaurant with 5 forks or 3 Michelin stars.
