Agents of the National Police have dismantled a gang dedicated to theft and sale of drugs to other drug traffickers that has resulted in 18 people being arrested, accused of belonging to a criminal organization, drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons, serious threats and fluid fraud. electric.

As a result of this operation, called ‘Drive’, a total of 16 house searches have been carried out in the provinces of Seville (Carmona, Bromujos and Brenes) and Huelva (Almonte and El Rocío), as well as in the neighborhoods of San Jerónimo and Triana in the Andalusian capital that have allowed the dismantling of a gang dedicated to stealing drugs from other drug traffickers.

The agents began the investigation after learning of the existence of several incidents involving firearms, carried out by the members of this organization. During its development, it was possible to “unpack” the operating mechanisms with which this group operated, “what in slang is known as ‘overturns'”, according to the Police in a press release.

In this sense, the agents managed to abort different sales of narcotic substances and indications were observed that the organization financed part of its activities with various ‘indoor’ marijuana crops. The Police intervened in a vehicle buying and selling company that was allegedly used for laundering and concealing assets from crime.

At the end of April, 11 entries and searches were carried out, following a court order, at the homes of the most important members of the organization, as well as at the businesses allegedly used to launder the proceeds from the sale of drugs.

In a second phase of the operation, another five entries and searches were made that affected the “lower echelons” of the organization. “These were employed for the most exposed tasks and to release the stolen substance to ‘retail consumers’ and other ‘purse sellers’.”

The operation ended with the intervention of 120 grams of cocaine, 260 kilos of marijuana, 15 kilos of hashish, various designer drugs and cutting substances, as well as different material for the subsequent treatment of the seized substances. Five ‘indoor’ marijuana crops were also dismantled and 1,500 plants were intervened.

In addition, six firearms suitable for firing, 600 ammunition cartridges of different calibers, several pistol chargers, three bulletproof vests, a police light device, two transmission equipment, a frequency inhibitor and a total of of 11 ski masks; to which must be added almost 50,000 euros, four high-end vehicles (one of them prepared to hide merchandise in a cove) and a motorcycle.
