The rain has watered down the Holy Week celebration in Malaga. The weather forecasts have motivated the suspension of the outings of brotherhoods such as that of Dulce Nombre, Salutación, Humility and Patience and that of Lágrimas y Favores, which has Antonio Banderas as steward of the Virgin’s throne.
Others have chosen to take risks and go out, although shortening their journeys. And nothing has gone well for them. This was the case of Señor del Prendimiento, who had to be covered with plastic to protect him from the intense downpour that fell in the Andalusian city.
The carving has been in procession for a few minutes covered with that protection, between rain and strong wind, as can be seen in several videos published on social networks by believers.
The pace became lighter, along with the rain. Soon, the street where he paraded was filled with umbrellas and the throne had to turn around to take refuge again in his temple.
The rain has also spoiled the processions in Seville. La Paz has opened the processional parades with a change in the route motivated by the closure of the María Luisa park due to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) of adverse meteorological phenomena.
Just three hours later, the passage of Christ took refuge in the cathedral and the Virgin returned to her house due to the fine rain of dust. The Brotherhood of La Hiniesta has remained in its temple after a decade and that of La Borriquita returned earlier than expected due to weather conditions, as has happened with Jesús Despojado, the Holy Supper and San Roque.
