On a beach we expect to find bathers soaking, families fighting to put an umbrella correctly, groups of friends looking for the best place on the beach and many children playing with a ball. Everything except animals taking a dip, unless we are in a canine sandpit.
But there are always exceptions. The unusual scene that could be seen in the video occurred last Sunday on a crowded beach in Destin (Florida). A black bear came out of the water next to the bathers, who discovered with bewilderment that the animal that was swimming next to them was not a dog, as it seemed to them at first, but one of the wild animals found in many forests in the United States. . The images were taken by Chris Barron.
As the stunned bather explained to Storyful, the animal was swimming right next to his 12-year-old son and Chris’s brother: “The bear was quite far away. A lot of people started swimming. I was worried it was a shark. I got closer and thought that it was a dog.”
Nothing made him suspect that a bear would be found on the beach. “At that point I realized it was a bear and started filming. She kept swimming. She came to shore, shook herself off and ran into the brush between the sand dunes,” she continues.
Disbelief was not long in coming to this Destin sandbank: “I think most people were surprised rather than scared. No one expected to see a bear in the Gulf of Mexico.”
This copy proves them right. As can be seen in the video, the bear only takes a dip in the water, then runs out of the sea at high speed, away from any bathers, although it is unknown how it got to that point.
