PSPV and Compromís, the two parties that will share the opposition this legislature after eight years in government, agreed this Thursday to regret the cessions of the PP to the Vox ideology in the programmatic agreement that both formations have reached to make Carlos president of the Generalitat Mazón. In exchange, the far-right formation will obtain the Presidency of Les Corts, a first vice-presidency with competences in Culture, and the Ministries of Justice and Agriculture. In addition, Vox leaves its stamp on many of the 50 agreed proposals.
After meeting them, the leader of the PSPV Arcadi Spain denounced that “the Popular Party has assumed the VOX program without resistance, returning us to a Valencian Community in black and white” and called the 50 points of the Government’s program of shame “worrying” which “are taken from a Vox rally that denies sexist violence, censors freedom of the press and belittles our language.”
For his part, the future Ombudsman for Compromís, Joan Baldoví, stressed that PP and Vox have presented a document that “makes their obsessions clear: cut back on rights and freedoms and go back on all those policies that have improved people’s lives over the years “.
In both cases, PSPV and Compromís expressed their concern about the incorporation of measures from the Vox ideology in the “joint agreement of PP and VOX for the government of the Valencian Community”.
Spain was convinced that the content agreed by the right “will mean a setback in everything achieved in the last eight years.” “They put the Valencian Community in the spotlight with an embarrassing agreement that is difficult to explain to the public,” said the socialist president, who insisted on the idea that “in just two days the Popular Party has completely bought the discourse to the extreme right”. “The popular leaders have taken off their mask and sold their few assets to achieve a share of power,” he emphasized.
Spain, in a statement, described as “alarming” that the new government “speaks of intra-family violence belittling all the victims of sexist violence and that it says without blushing that it is going to intervene in the content of our public radio and television to make it ‘more rational'”. . For Spain, what he describes as the ‘Pact of Shame’ “already embarrasses us throughout Spain and has made the Valencian Community go from being a reference for good news to returning to a bad reputation.”
Regarding the appointment of the former bullfighter Vicente Barrera as vice president and head of Culture, he advanced that “Valencian culture has received today the worst news it could receive, four years of belittlement and abandonment await it.” He also pointed out the problems that leaving agriculture in the hands of Vox can cause and recalled the problems with the bovine tuberculosis crisis in Castilla y León.
For its part, Compromís also highlighted as very worrying that in this government agreement there is no reference to the climate emergency, “the great challenge of our society does not deserve even a line because it will be a government made up of climate change deniers”. .
In addition, Baldoví indicated that the agreement document “points out with euphemisms the policies that the right and the extreme right are going to carry out to worsen the lives of millions of Valencian men and women, but they make us suspect that there is a hidden program that today is not have taught and that demonstrates the lack of transparency of this new government”.
