Compromís and the PSPV have reached an agreement in Alzira with UCIN, a formation made up of former PP and Vox militants, so that Alfons Domínguez, candidate of the Valencian formation, may be mayor of the city. With this agreement, UCIN has succeeded in preventing its goal of having José Luís Palacios, the PP candidate with the most voted list, become mayor of Alzira. The pact of the left of Alzira with this local formation of the right contradicts the will of the leaderships of Compromís and the PSPV to agree with forces of the extreme right.

The PP, headed by José Luís Palacios, was the list with the most votes, with six councilors. The same ones that Compromís achieved, which lost three compared to 2019. The Valencian coalition has been harmed by the withdrawal of Diego Gómez, who has been mayor of the city for eight years. He has been replaced by Alfons Domínguez. From there, the PSPV appears to have achieved 4, Vox 2, NICU, which is a split from the PP loca 2 and Ciudadanos 1.

The PP needed the support of Vox, UCIN and the Cs councilor in order to have the necessary majority. The same thing happened with Compromís and PSPV, who also wanted to convince the councilor of Inés Arrimadas’s party. In the right-wing block, the differences were enormous due to the resistance of the NICU to agreeing with the PP. Quite the contrary. This independent formation, led by Enrique Montalvá, has dedicated itself to “dirty play” to try to blow up the Palacios campaign.

Compromís, PSPV and UCIN have reached an agreement regarding the regional capital, after an intense week of negotiations in which the group headed by Enrique Montalvá has obtained three delegations; those of Public Services and Agriculture, which will be directed by Montalvá himself and the Fiestas area that will be exercised by the no. 2 of the candidacy, Mar Chordá. It remains to clarify the distribution of the rest of the municipal areas between Compromís and PSPV.
