The encounter between art, as a great diffuser of diverse and changing beauty, and a cosmetic industry with a lot of art in its scientific formulations and its challenges, also ecological and social, is what distinguishes the La Vanguardia Beauty Magazine awards. “For five years we have declined a mantra: beauty resides in art”, summed up Joana Bonet, director of the Magazine.

They are delivered to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, and it is already a tradition that they begin with a guided tour of an exhibition –this year it coincided with that of Lucien Freud–, where winners and celebrities mingle, discover and appreciate different perspectives of a beauty that claims different points of view.

“In this artist, beauty exists, but you have to find it, because he expressed things in a different way,” explained Evelio Acevedo, general director of the museum. The visit is a measured parenthesis in a sector with a crazy schedule, a few minutes for yourself and shared enjoyment.

Accompanied by the editorial advisor of the Godó Group, Ana Godó, Pere Guardiola, commercial and expansion director, who underlined the dynamism of an industry that exports more than wine, footwear or oil, and Enric Sierra, deputy director of La Vanguardia , Joana Bonet highlighted the initiatives behind the 17 award-winning brands. That hidden face that contributes to making the world more humane, and not just more beautiful.

The bell

Good humor reigned in the speeches of the winners who, between winks and wishes, built an ideal and assorted toiletry bag, which surely more than one attendee will enjoy this summer. The singer Brisa Fenoy provided the soundtrack for the awards with two beautiful songs with soul. “It is a day that refreshes our spirits,” said Evelio Acevedo.
