What would you have done if you had been insulted in a stadium like Vinícius?
Hatred of blacks is written into the DNA of European culture. So much so that some blacks take it on and hate themselves. I advise and exercise legitimate defense.
Will your sons also footballers have to suffer insults like this or do we progress?
The legitimate defense that I also advise my children consists in not accepting the stupidity of racists; on the contrary, to expose it: to demonstrate its frustration, its mediocrity and its impotence.
They must not have a lot of life when they spend the afternoon spewing hate.
They are failures with nothing else in their lives than to take refuge in the herd in the stands and instead they have Vinícius in front of them, the best player in Spain, a man, moreover, upright and happy… And that’s why they hate him; because it is everything that they have not managed to be.
But they keep insulting: how can you not be affected by their misery?
To begin with, we must highlight Ancelotti’s inability to realize at the press conference that there is nothing more serious than this insane racist behavior and if he does not denounce it, he is an accomplice.
What is it referring to?
Because he told journalists that he would rather talk about football than about racist insults. It was a mistake, because when they insult a person like that, they insult us all and denigrate the human condition. Instead, Ancelotti preferred to talk only about football and that was also denigrating football itself and his club.
There were those who said that these insults to Vinícius are compensated by his salary.
It was a way of blaming the victim of the assault. Something common among racists. And again, it shows that behind this racism there is envy and impotence.
Geneticists have shown that races –in scientific purity– do not exist.
Racists don’t care about that, because there are races or not, they will invent them: they will invent the differences – like so many to feel superior to women – to hide their failure in life: their only source of self-esteem is to bellow in a herd at soccer .
And if we ignore them?
They grow up. To stop them, you have to affirm the truth and expose them as the hating sheep that they are.
Not all fans are like this.
But it does exist, because it has existed, a white supremacist ideology that pervades all of European history and that is still there embedded in the conscience of many: the most ignorant and feeble-minded.
Don’t you think that nothing has improved in terms of our racism in Europe?
People would like to hear that it has improved, but unacceptable things happen as the Vinícius case now shows. And still when I see an incident I remember my mother when she told us that if we saw the police appear suddenly, we should disappear faster, because we would be guilty only because of our color as soon as they saw us.
Why don’t we progress and accept diversity?
Because despite the social contract of Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, in France and in Europe, a racial contract continues in force in which whites and non-whites are treated differently. And if you are one of the last, you are considered inferior.
Do you think affirmative action and racial quotas help?
They can be an excuse to keep alive the idea that we are not equal and that non-whites need help. And it is not that we need it: it would be enough for us if we were not discriminated against not only for being poor but also for non-whites. But the slave system that survives in consciences was not imposed by the poor but by the ruling classes.
Aren’t poor whites often more racist when competing with other ethnicities?
Those who built the racist discourse were the richest and most powerful and still build it. In America, African slaves had to be brought to work, because they had already exterminated the natives. And that elite that implanted the supremacist narrative continues to benefit from it.
Marx describes how feudal subjects wanted to remain feudal for security.
They wanted to stay on the land that fed them, but without slavery. That’s just what we all want.
What history do you teach your children?
That of the pride of the Africans who rebelled to the point of preferring freedom without life to life without freedom: let us always exercise legitimate defense.
What do you advise us to progress in the fight against supremacism?
Well, listen to those who you think are not like you. And regarding blacks it’s very simple: just talk to us. listen to us.
