Just two days after the Trooping the Color parade, Kate Middleton shone again with her outfits at another special event for the British Royal Family: Garter Day. A celebration in which the princes of Wales became the main protagonists and exuded complicity.
For the occasion, Middleton opted for her trusted designer, Alessandra Rich, creator of her most applauded outfits. The princess premiered a flattering white dress with a black polka dot print, one of her favorite prints, which she captured all eyes for her elegance.
The design had a high neck, long sleeves with marked shoulders and cuffs, a sash-like drape that marked her waist and helped her to stylize it and the midi length as established by the protocol of the event. Middleton completed the look with a sophisticated black headdress with white feathers and Philip Treacy patterns, matching the design.
In addition, she debuted new two-tone, black and white slingbacks by Jennifer Chamandi, and a vanilla-toned bag by Strathberry. There was no shortage of long pearl earrings and her inseparable engagement ring, two jewels that belonged to Lady Di.
This outfit of the Princess of Wales was reminiscent of the one worn by Queen Letizia in the same act four years ago. It was the year in which King Felipe VI was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II and they also joined in the celebration of Garter Day. The Queen chose a design from the Sevillian brand Cherubina, with a Perkins-style collar, cuffs lined with buttons, and a marked waist.
As for the headdress, Letizia opted for a headband of the same brand embellished with a grid and goose feathers. She finished off her outfit with black Manolo Blahnik pumps and a black and gold handbag.
This was not the first time that Kate winked at one of Queen Letizia’s outfits. Just a year ago, the then Duchess of Cambridge appeared at an event with her husband wearing a white Alexander McQueen suit that was inevitably reminiscent of the Queen’s engagement look.
