Toni Company is the most handsome man in Spain. Beauty can be of different opinions depending on the person, but in his case it was ruled by a select committee that analyzed his physical appearance, qualities and values. The Spaniard was proclaimed champion of Mister International Spain 2023, and thanks to this recognition he will be able to represent the country in the final phase of Mister Mundo. An occasion that he wants to take advantage of to publicize ataxia.
During an interview conducted by Hola magazine, Company was able to speak in detail about how he faced victory in the national contest, his aspirations for Mister Mundo and the reasons why he was encouraged to participate. As we have mentioned before, the Mister International Spain contest values, in addition to the face and body, the fact that the participants support social causes in their province. Hence the pageant’s slogan was “Beauty with a Purpose.”
In his case, the Company’s purpose for embarking on this adventure was his loved ones. “In my family there is a disease called degenerative ataxia and I want to give visibility to this disease, because it is not talked about much. Now it can be made known and that in this way the causes can be investigated and a cure discovered in the future”, explained the Spaniard during the course of his interview.
Degenerative ataxia is a motor disorder characterized by a lack of coordination when performing voluntary movements, altering their speed and precision. This lack of coordination affects gait, limbs, and speech. The most common symptoms are usually instability when walking, lack of coordination to move the arms and legs, speech disorders and also eye movements.
According to the Spanish Society of Neurology, there are currently some 13,000 people in the country who are affected by this disorder. In addition, it is considered as an underlying warning of other diseases that can affect the brain. With its participation in Mister Mundo already scheduled, Company wants to take advantage of the opportunity so that ataxia reaches as many people as possible, get as involved as possible and find a solution as soon as possible.
“If I win, I would like to continue giving visibility to ataxia, which is the most important thing for me and for which I have presented myself. And then, everything that comes out in the world of fashion and that helps me in my career as a model would be something positive”, explained the Spaniard, who also had time to explain his reaction to the victory and how he is preparing for the international contest. , focusing on her runway and speaking efforts.
