The spokesperson for the PSC in Parliament, Alícia Romero, has charged the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, for having “questioned” the way in which Jaume Collboni was elected mayor. “He is very ugly. It is what Vox does. What the independence movement does, sometimes, is what the extreme right does. Questioning the electoral results and a legitimate government,” Romero said in an interview with Ser Catalunya.

Romero has denied that there are “unnatural pacts”, as Aragonès has described the agreement in Barcelona and has defended that Collboni is a mayor chosen “democratically” following the rules of the game. However, she has been confident that there will not be a minority government for a long time.

In another order of things, Romero has advanced that the Government and the PSC will hold the first follow-up meeting of the budget agreement on July 6. In this sense, the Socialists suspect that there will be aspects of the pact that have not been fulfilled. “This quarter the expansion of the Tordera desalination plant was to be tendered and it has not happened yet. We are not complying with the budget agreement or with the law that we approved in Parliament to deal with the drought. We suspect that there will be things that we are not going to do”, lamented the socialist spokesperson.

On the other hand, Romero trusts that before going on vacation the agreement of the Rond Nord will be signed, the final PDU of the Hard Rock and the agreement of 900 million for infrastructures will be approved. The socialist spokesperson considers that it is possible to close the three agreements in the coming weeks because “they are done”. “I would not like to think that the general elections delay everything. The citizens deserve the government to govern,” she added.

As for the Rond Nord, Romero has asked the Minister of the Presidency “not to mess up” after Laura Vilagrà yesterday demanded 914 million from the central government to carry out State investments in pending infrastructures, a demand from Esquerra to approve the budgets General State of 2023.

According to the Socialist spokeswoman, there has been a draft agreement that goes “up and down” for many months. And she has added that the text that is on the table has been seen with good eyes by both parties. “There is no problem with the Ronda Nord. It is the section of the B-40 between Sabadell, Terrassa and Castellar del Vallès. They do not tell stories. That is it,” she concluded.
