A message from PP senator Rafael Hernando, popular spokesperson in Congress until 2018, on the re-election of Unai Hualde as president of the Parliament of Navarra has caused deep discomfort in the Navarrese PNV and in the coalition that is part of it, Geroa Bai. The popular politician accused the PSOE of “giving away” the presidency of the Navarrese chamber to “the old friends of ETA”, in contrast to the position of the PP in Extremadura. The president of the PNV in Navarra and a member of Geroa Bai has responded to Hernando that “not everything is worth it.”
Specifically, Rafael Hernando wrote the following message: “The PSOE gives ETA’s old friends the presidency of the Navarro parliament. And VOX gives the PSOE the presidency of the Parliament of Extremadura so that the PP does not preside over it. They wanted it with 8% of the votes. They did not believe in the autonomies but they did believe in the armchairs.
The truth is that the person who was appointed president of the Parliament of Navarra last Friday was Unai Hualde Iglesias, with the support of the parliamentarians of the PSN, EH Bildu, Geroa Bai and Contigo/Zurekin.
Hualde has a degree in Law from the University of Deusto and has worked as a lawyer in the field of Public and Administrative Law. In addition, he was mayor of Alsasua between 2007 and 2011, and is the president of the PNV Executive in Navarra (Geroa Bai is a coalition of jeltzales and Geroa Socialverdes).
The Navarrese politician has responded to Hernando on social networks with the following message: “Unfortunate statements made from ignorance and bad faith. All my career in politics has been clear and emphatic condemning ETA terrorism and in favor of peace and coexistence. Not everything goes!”
