The mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa, has called the Taula per la Sequera, which will be built on July 4 at Parc Agrobiotech. The meeting responds to the motion of the Socialist Municipal Group, approved by the April plenary session, where it was requested to establish urgent corrective measures for the drought and for a new water cycle resilient to climate change.
One of the points of the agreement is to urge the Paeria to establish the table, where all the people affected must be, with the aim of designing a local plan to deal with this problem. The motion also includes supporting the works for investments in irrigation modernization in Horta de Lleida.
The motion also includes advancing in the drafting of projects for the restoration of river spaces and improvement in water quality and ecosystems, dialogue with the Mancomunitat de Pinyana to address this crisis and request collaboration to make responsible use and reduce water consumption. .
