Good news for the most greedy residents of the upper part of the city. The Hofmann pastry shop, recognized as the best in Catalonia for three consecutive years by the Gremi de Pastisseria de Barcelona, ??has just opened a new store at number 4 Avenida Pau Casals, next to Turó Park. The inauguration coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Hofmann Group and adds to the successful establishment in El Born, which its founder, May Hofmann, who died in 2016, opened fifteen years ago.
This beautiful 100-square-meter space offers the same pastries as the store in the city center, from where products will be sent twice a day. From now on, their successful croissants (they sell close to 750 units a day), cookies, cakes and other sweets will be more accessible to a clientele that has been demanding more points of sale for a long time.
On these dates, there will be no shortage of cocas de Sant Joan, both classic and those that are fused with popular desserts such as the Sacher or tiramisu. Everything is handcrafted by the team led by pastry chef Miquel Guarro. In addition to brand new store, they have expanded the team and gained space in the Flassaders premises.
All this is part of a desire for expansion on the part of Silvia Hofmann, president of the group and daughter of the founder. Despite wanting to maintain the brand’s relationship with Barcelona, ??he does not rule out taking his stores to other Catalan cities, “preserving the values ??and quality that characterize our confectionery.”
