A flight departing from Malaga airport and bound for Gran Canaria, had to return to the Costa del Sol aerodrome after being struck by a bird during takeoff. After the incident and the pertinent checks, the flight has been able to resume its journey.

As reported by the official profile of air traffic controllers, the flight crew reported the impact with a bird during takeoff and that they needed to carry out checks.

In the first place, “we instruct him to proceed to the wait southeast of the airport”, but “finally they decide to return to the airport” and several flights are sent to wait until the runway is cleared, where he landed “without incident”.

Shortly after, the plane resumed its flight and passengers were able to reach Gran Canaria. “We continue in normal operation on a Saturday where we expect a lot of traffic in Malaga,” they wrote in a message a few minutes after 8:00 a.m.
