The fall of a large rock from the mountain in Mallorca has caused damage to at least one home in the municipality of Esporles and several vehicles. Several houses have been isolated as the road was cut off and some homes have been left without electricity supply. Firefighters are assessing the damage caused by this slide, which has not caused any personal injury.

The large rock that fell has rolled down the mountain and damaged everything in its path. It measures about three meters high and three meters wide and firefighters have had to be employed to move the material due to its enormous size. The fall has also caused rubble and other materials to fall from the mountain.

The rock fall took place in the early afternoon for unknown reasons. At the time of the landslide there were no heavy rains or other meteorological incidents that could have caused the event. Firefighters immediately went to the scene alerted by the neighbors affected by the landslide.

The area of ??the Serra de Tramuntana, where the municipality of Esporles is located, has frequent landslides caused mostly by wind and rain storms, but this was not the case on this occasion. The road that runs through the Serra has been closed on several occasions, although this Tuesday’s event only affected a secondary road that connects several houses in the countryside.
