If the last article we signed on this matter began with the phrase “Today is a good day for Nacho Vidal” when stating that the Investigative Court No. 2 of Xàtiva did not find any guilt in Nacho Vidal – and even the prosecution requested the dismissal of the proceedings –, today the opposite is true: the Provincial Court of Valencia has upheld the appeals of the private accusations, annulling the provisional file of the case. Thus, the famous actor and film producer X is forced to face Justice again for a criminal case as serious as the death of a person.

Carlos Castillo and Javier Vilarrubí, lawyers who represent the brothers of the deceased photographer José Luis Abad during a ritual ceremony officiated by Nacho Vidal, are exultant, because along with the accusation of a crime of homicide due to serious recklessness, another against may be added. public health: “The simple possession and distribution of 5-Methoxy-N, NDimethyltryptamine, a substance that was administered to José Luis Abad, constitutes a crime,” says Castillo.

In May 2023, the Court issued an order for the provisional dismissal of the three accused, Ignacio Jordá (Nacho Vidal), Mª Verónica Jordá and Miguel Ángel Calatayud, on the basis that Carlos Abad voluntarily requested to undergo the ceremony in which he would end up dying. and that he came to her having previously consumed cocaine despite the instructions to the contrary that he had received from Verónica Jordá. The forensic report indicates that the mixture of both substances was the cause of death. And from here, the Court’s order changes everything:

“Mr. Jordá assumes the role of director of the rite, which takes place in his own home, attributing special knowledge about this type of “ceremonies” and it is he who arranges the dose that the deceased must inhale in a pipette. of Cristal”. The court emphasizes that this substance was not brought with him by Carlos Abad but was provided by the officiant, who “knew the toxicity of the substance he was going to administer to the deceased and, despite this, did not take any precautions either before or during its administration.” .

In the order, the Court believes that it cannot be assumed that the victim “had been duly and exhaustively informed of the risks he assumed by inhaling the substance” and establishes a causal link between the death and the actions of Nacho Vidal. The collaboration of his sister, Verónica, and the subsequent conduct of Mr. Calatayud (possible cover-up, concealment of evidence) also have criminal relevance. There is no going back on the decision of the Provincial Court of Valencia: the Investigating Court that opened and closed the case must now request from the parties their accusation and defense documents and then dictate the transfer to an abbreviated procedure. That is, the trial.
