CD Castellón issued a statement this Sunday denouncing that some of its fans were attacked on Saturday in Alcorcón, shortly before the final game for the promotion to Second Division that the black and white team played against the Madrid team.
“A group of albinegro fans who were quietly in a bar were attacked by the local ultras with the throwing of cans, bottles, etc. On the terrace of the bar there were families with boys and girls who were terrified after what happened,” says the club Castellón.
“CD Castellón finds it unfortunate and shameful that these acts are happening today in the world of football and wants to show its total rejection”, he adds, ending with a resounding message: “No to violence in football”.
Alcorcón yesterday certified its return to Segunda a year after losing the category by winning 2-1 in the second leg of the promotion final against Castellón, who went ahead on the scoreboard through Jesús de Miguel but could not maintain their advantage and ended up coming from behind with goals from Addai and Javi Castro.
The goalless draw in Castellón in the first leg left everything to be decided in the second leg and the pottery fans filled Santo Domingo so that the Madrid stadium could wear their best clothes in the decisive duel. The hostile environment did not intimidate the team from Castellón, who took the lead after thirteen minutes after an individual move by Koné on the left wing, who put a cross to the far post that De León caught and whose shot bounced off the legs of Jesús de Miguel, who finished off an empty goal.
The goal did not discourage Alcorcón, who took control of the game and began to gain meters over the rival area, being able to equalize just before the break after a lateral cross from the right side that Granero took just before Bustos finished off a goal.
The rest was good for Alcorcón, who came out with a gear more than Castellón, which they equalized on the scoreboard after 56 minutes with a powerful shot from the edge of Addai that surpassed Alfonso Pastor.
Just six minutes later, Alcorcón turned the score around with a header from Javi Castro, after a cross from Javi Lara, which brought delirium to the Santo Domingo stands.
Until the end, Alcorcón sought to score the third rather than hold the result, although they did not have excessive dangerous occasions, and Castellón, more aware of the clock than of making plays, proved incapable of creating trouble for the pottery defense and ended up playing without goalkeeper after the expulsion of Alfonso Pastor in added time.
