The journalist Ricard Ustrell, 32, will direct and carry out “El matí de Catalunya Ràdio” next season, starting on September 4, replacing Laura Rosel. The incorporation of the young journalist at the head of the flagship program of Catalan radio responds “to the will of the management to renew the grid and give new impetus to the content offer of the public station to make it more competitive,” says a statement made public today by Catalunya Ràdio.

Ustrell, currently director and presenter of the program “Col·lapse” on TV3, will be, at 32 years old, the youngest journalist to take on the challenge of leading Catalunya Ràdio’s star magazine “with the objective of competing with rigor, originality and excellence and adding young talent to the experience of Catalunya Ràdio’s human team, with the responsibility and pride of vindicating the origin and values ??of the station”, reads the note from Catalunya Ràdio.

“We will do radio on the move, leaving the studio to be where it is necessary, being flexible, following current affairs and the interests of each territory”, highlighted Ricard Ustrell, who adds: “We want the program to be original in all areas, with a marked commitment to digital, and that every morning different things happen”.

Ricard Ustrell directed and presented Catalunya Ràdio’s “El Suplement” for three seasons, with the best audience data for the channel in that time slot, reaching 638,000 listeners at the EGM in December 2017.

Since then, with the production company La Manchester, Ustrell has produced informative and entertainment television formats for TV3, such as “Quatre Gats” (four seasons), the start of “FAQS” (the first four months), “Planta Baixa” ( four seasons) and “Col·lapse” (one season) or “Living Europa” (digital TV3). In addition, he has produced the documentary series on Cadena SER “Algo Pasa” and has made two documentaries for Movistar, “El Triángulo de Sternberg” and “Ucrania: huir o quedar” (the latter also on Filmin) and the documentary “Binu” .

The management of Catalunya Ràdio has thanked Laura Rosel, who replaced Mònica Terribas in the program three years ago, “the professionalism demonstrated these last three seasons leading ‘El matí de Catalunya Ràdio'”.
