José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero is still immersed in the electoral campaign for the next general elections, which will be held on July 23. The former President of the Government starred in a well-known interview with Carlos Herrera in COPE. He was also interviewed on La Noche en 24 Horas, where he made a closed defense of the management of the current executive leader, Pedro Sánchez.
The appearance of the socialist has not ceased to amaze due to the repercussion that his words are having. Some of his interventions are on their way to a million views on Twitter. Specifically, the fragment of the interview in spoke of “sanchismo”: “What is this repealing ‘sanchismo’? Repealing the increase in the interprofessional minimum wage, the improvement of pensions, the jobs created, the laws in favor of equality, or the achievement of European funds?
Zapatero reappeared this Saturday on laSexta Xplica, the program directed by José Yélamo. And the former president has shown that he continues to have a pull. The program has achieved its all-time high, with a 6.5% audience share, with an average of 491,000 viewers and 3,640,000 unique viewers.
In his interview, the socialist assured that “Sanchismo is a completely unfounded and false bubble.” And he has defended the work of Sánchez during these years: “We have a president without fault, honest. There has not been a scandal around his government, after what we dragged on years ago.”
The former president has vindicated the achievements of the current executive, such as “job creation like never before, the reduction of inequalities, social cohesion and the best labor reform in history.”
Zapatero assures that Sánchez is the only one who can lead a government for all: “I want a government with a modernizing spirit, advanced, as is Spanish society.” In addition, he assures that “feminism has been the most important contribution to contemporary democracy in all countries of the world.”
