The 25-N Platform, made up of the UGT and CCOO unions, the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Badalona (FAVB) and the Women’s Federation, presented this Monday a comprehensive action plan against sexual violence to be coordinated by the City Council from Badalona. The intention of this initiative is to work with all the agents involved, in addition to the council, security forces, school, legal and other entities of the city.

The measures contemplated in this plan are training, guidance and prevention to avoid these behaviours, especially among minors. Before the end of June they will hold a meeting with the Councilor for Great People, Feminisme and LGTBIQ and Functional Diversity, Flori Badia.

This work is “alive”, as the regional secretary of the UGT in Barcelonès Nord, Reyes Solaz, has said, and that it has “adapted” to the city. It has the support of these four entities and the will is that “all entities” of the town adhere.

On the other hand, from Platform 25-N the extraordinary celebration of the Consell de Dones was also claimed and it was set for next July 5 where this comprehensive action plan against sexual violence will be presented. In this sense, the women’s member of the FAVB, Silvia Delgado, has insisted on working “with all the necessary and necessary agents”.

One of the first measures for immediate application that Solaz has suggested is the installation of lilac points in the Sant Roc neighborhood and in the Badalona shopping centers. Likewise, he has pointed out as “at the starting point” the formation in the institutes.

The spokesperson for the Mares Committee Against Sexual Violence in Badalona, ??and mother of one of the victims at the Mágic, Teresa Prados, has demanded “resources and social investment” to combat this phenomenon. Prados, once the press conference of Platform 25N had ended, stated that “we must break with the message that criminalizes immigrants and gypsies” and added, “the problem is not the origin but that it is a rotten system and wild.”

The activist charged former mayor Rubén Guijarro for “whitening the image of the shopping center” and questioned the current mayor, Xavier Garcia Albiol, because “the only thing he proposes is a strong hand.” Prados has insisted that the “solutions go through investing in education.”
