The Government has approved today to increase the staff of educational personnel for the next academic year 2023-2024 by 1,528 workers. This increase, explains the text of the Government agreements, is due to a new planning of the personnel needs in the field of teachers as well as administration and services personnel and educational attention. The allocations so distributed would come to corroborate the statements of the Minister Anna Simó in intervening in a “surgical” way in the system based on the detection of the greatest needs.

The total amount is 78,450,750 euros, which will be distributed among 1,190 teachers, 75 administrative and educational service personnel, 211 educational attention personnel, and 52 administrative personnel in the centers.

The reinforcement of the teaching staff is planned to attend to the new students who enroll throughout the course as well as to guarantee that P3 classes remain at 20 students, a measure adopted by Josep Gonzàlez-Cambray for the public sector ( the ratio is 25 students per teacher).

The note specifies the incorporation of 145 teachers in compulsory education centers, 297 in inclusive education to support students with specific needs, and 698 for Vocational Training (FP).

The second largest endowment goes to the inclusive school. Of the 211 new staff, practically half are going to reinforce students with special needs, 86 are incorporated as specialist early childhood education technicians and 13 will go on specific training itineraries, aimed at students in the post-compulsory stage with special educational needs.

Regarding the 75 administration and service workers, 31 will be to “assume the integration of centers in the public network of the department”, in reference to the purchase of schools from the privately owned educational system. There will be 3 administrative staff for ESO centers and 41 for the management of scholarships and grants from public centers, including nursery schools owned by the department.
