The Government of Catalonia has today approved the carrying out of 620 actions and activities whose objective is to improve road safety, among which are the development of a care service for accident victims or the preparation of a map of dangerous sections for cyclists .
In addition, it will also carry out a study on the data from random drug and alcohol controls, and will create a “safe traffic map” that will include the sections with the highest concentration of accidents and safe routes on certain roads and time slots.
The Government will also develop a project to detect fauna on the roads by installing animal detection systems and, in the case of the Pyrenean Axis, it will install equipment on the roads to monitor weather information in real time.
These activities are part of the Road Safety Plan in Catalonia for 2023, within the actions to reduce the number of fatalities by 50% during this decade.
