Bikevidrera is a cycling association whose objective is to ensure that the Vallvidrera tunnel has a path available for bicycles. To achieve this, they ask that the service tunnel parallel to the main roads be reconditioned, a solution that has already passed the viability filters.
To vindicate their proposal, the members and supporters of Bikevidrera organized a bike march inside the main tunnel, next to motorized traffic. The demonstration ended with the appearance of the police, who did not allow the cyclists to continue advancing and issued a fine.
The fine itself consists of 2,600 euros and to deal with it, Bikevidrera has made a call to all those who want to contribute to the cause. They ask for donations to be able to pay the fine and continue with the project.
Today it is not possible to cross the Vallvidrera tunnel by bicycle, but if the political will is favorable and the social pressure is maintained, it is not unreasonable to think that in a few years it could be possible.
