Laura Ponte has designed a jewelery collection together with Renault to pay homage to the Renault Austral E-Tech full hybrid engine. Each jewel is inspired by a different part of the engine and made of gold and silver.
The objective is to hold an auction with these jewels whose benefits will go to the UC3M Alumni Scholarship Program, promoted by the Carlos III University Foundation to promote female talent with scholarships to study STEM degrees at this university.
The collection consists of a bracelet, a pair of rings, cufflinks, earrings, a brooch and a bracelet made of 100% Spanish materials, just like the Renault Austral and its hybrid engine. For its creation, noble materials such as gold, silver and rhodium have been used, combined with each other to reflect the hybrid nature of the Austral.
The jewels are inspired by parts such as the link of a distribution chain with which the movement and synchronization of the engine is caused, in a part of the intake valve attached to the oil feed tube of the primary shaft or in a gear of turn.
During the event, the documentary The beauty of the mechanism was screened, which narrates the project and the process of creating the jewels, made by the Spanish production company Dadá.
This initiative has a social purpose, since hand in hand with the Renault Group Spain Foundation, the brand has decided to support a solidarity project that is committed to young talent and equal opportunities promoted by one of the most prestigious universities in Spain, the University Carlos III of Madrid.
The proceeds from the auction will go to the UC3M Alumni Scholarship Program of the Carlos III University Foundation and aimed at students with a good academic record and insufficient economic resources who want to study at said University, thus supporting future Spanish talents.
