The heart magazine Semana revealed yesterday exclusively that the actor and singer Carlos Constanzia, known among other works for his participation in the Toy Boy series, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for a continued crime of aggravated fraud and that his entourage was taking the news very badly, especially his mother, the model Mar Flores.
The same magazine announced in September that the son of the model and businessman Carlo Costanzia had a harsh legal process ahead of him accused of a continuous crime of fraud in its aggravated modality. After months of investigation, the Provincial Court of Malaga has handed down a sentence that has sentenced Constanzia and her partner to ”21 months in prison and a five-month fine with a daily fee of six euros, with subsidiary personal liability in case of non-payment of one day of deprivation of liberty for every two unsatisfied daily quotas”.
It was in September when it came to light that the actor and his partner were facing 9 years in prison for having defrauded more than 92,900 euros with a business dedicated to the sale of high-end cars. During the different phases of the trial, Costanzia defended himself by explaining that her partner was responsible for these operations, but the complainants assured that he was knowledgeable and that the signature on the documents was his.
After the initial shock that the sentence has meant for the family and for the convicted person, Costanzia has made a first important decision for him by closing his Instagram account to the public. The young man has deleted all the posts he had, so now his profile is empty.
The son of Mar Flores used this social network to give visibility to his work as a singer and connect with his audience and his fans, so closing it must not have been easy for the young artist.
Although Spanish legislation states that when someone is sentenced to more than two years in prison, their entry into prison is mandatory, when the sentence is less than 24 months, everything depends on the judges.
On this specific occasion, Costanzia will not get rid of spending a few months in jail, since he requested the suspension of the sentence (for not reaching two years) and it was denied: “The convicted are not deserving of the benefit of the suspension of the execution of the custodial sentence imposed, since it is not about primary or specific offenders”.
