The Mossos d’Esquadra are investigating the murder of a man who appeared yesterday, early in the morning, on a park bench in the Sant Martí district of Barcelona. The homicide group of the Mossos d’Esquadra has taken over the investigation.

The police were informed through a call to 112, at seven in the morning. The scientific police traveled to the site, in addition to the judge on duty who authorized the removal of the corpse. The police worked by deploying the wind screen next to the body, to avoid the prying eyes of onlookers.

The victim was not identified, but some residents of the square explained that it was a man who had recently made that bank his home, which he shared with two other homeless people. A well-known victim in Poblenou because he made a living selling scrap metal in one of the recycling workshops that survive in the district.

The same insurances ensured that the man was always accompanied by two other homeless people, who yesterday the investigators were looking for to take their statements. The police did not overlook the fact that precisely one of them left the cart next to the bank that he always dragged with all his belongings.

Thiago Fernándes reached a plea agreement on the first day of the trial. He apologized to the victims and assured that he did not remember anything that happened in those days because he did it under the influence of drugs.
