Brad Mehldau, one of the most renowned figures on the world jazz scene, will offer a concert for a very small capacity at the Masía de Can Reon (Tiana). The concert will take place on July 1 at 8:30 p.m. The prestigious pianist will participate with his musical trio, made up of Larry Grenadier on bass and Jeff Ballard on drums.

Mehldau, of American origin, stands out as one of the most prestigious jazz figures of recent decades, on a par with names like Pat Metheny, Renee Fleming or Joshua Redman. In recent years, she has received awards such as the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Jazz Album (2020) or the Edison Award for Best International Jazz (2019).

Mehldau is considered one of the most lyrical and intimate voices on contemporary piano thanks to his blends of classical romanticism, pop, and jazz. Among his repertoire, the pianist has made reformulations of songs by popular composers and groups such as The Beatles, Cole Porter, Radiohead, Paul Simon, Nirvana or Nick Drake.

The concert will be offered in front of the façade of the Masía de Can Reon, a space with more than 777 years rehabilitated by Renny and Leon Ramakers. This Dutch-born couple internationally known for their role in the design and music industry settled in Tiana (Barcelona) five years ago to give shape to an avant-garde artistic project in the farmhouse.

Can Reon has the objective of becoming a new cultural epicenter of the Barcelona metropolitan area where art, design, wine, food and music can be brought together. A place that its founders have defined as a “contemporary wine farm”.

During the inauguration of the project, on May 13, 2022, concerts by the Menorcan pianist and composer Marco Mezquida and the Dutch techno artist Colin Benders were held. In July of the same year, Marco Mezquida went to Can Reon again, this time with his trio, and Marc Parrot presented his album.
