Madrid offers an innovative cultural proposal in the Almudena cemetery: guided tours at night in which actors and actresses will bring historical figures to life, such as the cartoonist Forges, the researcher Ramón y Cajal, the artist Lola Flores and others less known as Lili Álvarez, the first Spanish woman to participate in the Olympics.

These plays, an initiative of the Funeral Service of Madrid, are added to the six daytime guided tours. You can see the months of July, August and the first half of September and the price of tickets will be between 8 and 10 euros.

Led by the Sergio Pazos theater company, illustrious figures buried in the cemetery will offer a journey through history on Madrid nights in which the sunset, the dim lighting and the majestic cultural heritage of the cemetery will create the perfect setting to learn about its history, as well as the artistic styles that can be seen.

The nocturnal visit program has a maximum capacity of 30 people per visit. In case of exhausting the places each day, a waiting list will be opened and the cost is eight euros for reduced tickets and ten for general tickets.

The Almudena cemetery is the largest in Western Europe. The remains of illustrious people rest in its streets, but there are also corners that have been the setting for series and movies, such as El Cochecito, Torrente or Madres Paralelas, sculptures and funerary architecture that turn the cemetery into a kind of open-air museum. 8,500 places will be offered. It is not the first time that this show is going to be offered: it is the third edition, since this type of visits already took place in 2018 and 2019.
