The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has confirmed that he will attend the season finale of the podcast: La Pija y La Quinqui, one of the most fashionable programs among generation Z today. After the recent round of interviews that he has carried out in the different media, Sánchez has accepted the invitation to the Carlos Peguer and María de los Ángeles Maturana program, where he will have the opportunity to appear before a young audience before the general elections.
With the momentous July 23 less than a month away, Sánchez has multiplied his appearances in various media and television programs, such as El Intermedio, presented by El Gran Wyoming or El Hormiguero by Pablo Moto. However, the Prime Minister was surprised when he accepted the invitation, via Twitter, from Carlos Perguer y Mariang to be interviewed on his podcast: La Pija y la Quinqui. During the program, Sánchez will have the opportunity to present himself before a young audience, representing the 9% of the electorate that will participate in the next elections.
The program is characterized by the lighthearted and informal tone used by the 23-year-old presenters to talk about topics such as love failures and their private lives. La Pija y La Quinqui is one of the podcasts that has achieved the most growth in listeners in recent months in Spain and has become a reference for many young people in this country. It is clear that with this movement, the Prime Minister intends to take a position in the race for the young vote, which he lost in the May 28 elections.
“Wanting to go. Tell me when and where and I’ll be there. Thanks for the invitation” was the response of the Prime Minister this Wednesday to the proposal that the protagonists of the program launched on Twitter. To which Carlos Peguer (La Pija) replied: “You’re going to love hearing how my ex cheated on me”, making it clear the type of interview that the PSOE candidate can expect. In two days, Sánchez’s confirmation on social networks has had 11 million views and almost 52,000 people have indicated that they like him.
La Pija and La Quinqui have had the appearance of personalities such as Aitana, Nathy Peluso, Brays Efe and Sebastián Yatra on their program. In the same way, the singer Rosalía was one of the first celebrities to attend the podcast to promote her album Motomami and have a fun time, between glasses of wine and mugs of beer.
