The automobile firm of Chinese origin NIO launches a new model for sale in European territory. This is the EL6, a one hundred percent electric SUV that intends to open a gap in a segment full of contenders. Among its main assets are its spacious and comfortable cabin, as well as its considerable power distributed among the four wheels thanks to its two engines.
Nor should we overlook its long-range battery pack and its populated technological cast. The vehicle boasts a sleek aesthetic, with a front end distinguished by sharp headlights and a smooth, aerodynamic silhouette, as well as details such as retractable door handles. At the rear, the EL6 stands out for a thin strip of lighting whose objective is to reinforce the sensation of visual width of the vehicle.
The car includes a large panoramic roof that can be opened at any time to increase interior light. Regarding proportions, it should be noted that the vehicle measures 4.85 m long, 2.00 m wide and 1.70 m high. Its 2.92 m wheelbase contributes to obtaining ample legroom and, therefore, greater interior comfort.
Apart from the spaciousness of the cabin, it is also characterized by an elegant and pleasant design, with shapes inspired by nature and with an evident attention to detail. Among the features designed to accentuate comfort are the front seats. The driver’s allows up to 20 different electrical adjustments to achieve the most comfortable position.
For its part, the so-called ‘Lounge Seat’ for the passenger takes comfort to another level, providing adjustment settings of up to 22 positions, with a reclining mode and an adjustable footrest to achieve a posture worthy of a Business Class flight. For its part, the rear row of seats is also electrically adjustable. The trunk of the new SUV offers between 668 and 1,430 liters, depending on the position of the seats.
The new SUV integrates a four-wheel drive system with a double electric motor that offers a total power of 360 kW (equivalent to 489 hp) and a maximum torque of 700 Nm. Thanks to this, it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The EL6 has a battery pack that can provide up to 529 km of autonomy in its standard version.
However, this is by no means his ceiling as far as range is concerned. And it is that, in its most ambitious version in terms of batteries, it will be able to travel up to 940 km with a single recharge, ranking at the top of its segment in this field.
Note that the battery pack is interchangeable thanks to a specific NIO system, which allows users to replace their depleted battery packs with fully charged units in a matter of minutes at dedicated dedicated stations.
When it comes to security, the vehicle is loaded with technology, with intelligent systems such as the Aquila Super Sensing, which consists of a total of 33 devices including cameras, radars, ultrasonic sensors and LiDAR. The new SUV will land on our continent in the last quarter of this year. To observe it in detail, you just have to take a look at the video that accompanies this article.
