Probado is the alliance formed by EFE Verifica, Maldita.es, Newtral, VerificaRTVE and Verificat that will verify the contents of the electoral call for next July 23 and will distribute them free of charge to La Vanguardia, along with 18 other media outlets that have decided to join to this coalition.

Starting this Monday, July 3, and until election day, La Vanguardia will offer the most outstanding verifications of Verificado. Some public service content that is prepared following the principles of journalistic ethics, investigative methodology and transparency, to offer an agile response from the community of verifiers to the early call for general elections and the growth of electoral misinformation.

According to the latest winter Eurobarometer carried out by the European Commission, 86% of Spaniards believe that the existence of content that misrepresents reality or that is false is a problem for democracy. A percentage that exceeds the European average by five points. This coalition gathers the experience Verified in 2019, the first collaborative project to independently verify electoral information. In this 2023 edition, efforts are focused on increasing the dissemination of verified content and offering the media useful information for their audience, which complements electoral coverage.
